New-Bridge students, Laura and Rory Comer  who represented Ulster and Ireland in Badminton U13 (Rory)and U15 (Laura) were among a number of athletes from the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon borough  to be awarded a Sports Bursary as part of the first Sports Bursary Programme in the Borough.

The students were invited to a reception on Wednesday 27th March in the Banbridge Civic Centre and the cheques were presented by the Lord Mayoress.

The bursary will enable Laura and Rory progress in their sport.

The Comer family have since achieved success at Ulster level.  Rory Comer represented Ulster at U15 level on Saturday 6 April  winning silver and sisters Laura and Anna represented Ulster at Grade A on Sunday 7 April, also winning silver!
