Amy Jordan -Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland
Gifted and talented New-Bridge Integrated College pupil Amy Jordan is a second violinist with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI). Amy participated recently in the Belfast Peace Proms 2017(Photo attached) and as part of the National/UK Tour was involved in performances in Liverpool, Dublin, Belfast and Limerick. The CBOI were joined in the SSE Arena by the NI Peace Choir, made up of 3,500 schoolchildren from all over N. Ireland and Co. Louth.
Next up for Amy and the CBOI is a performance on Sunday 19th March in Newry Cathedral (7:30pm – 9:30pm) when the orchestra will be bringing to a close the St. Patrick’s Festival with the Voice of Ireland. This festival has been run from the 1st March throughout the Newry Mourne/Armagh area by the local councils and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. Tickets are available at the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry(£10) It is a great honour for the orchestra to perform for the festival. We are very proud of Amy achievements both to the College community and the wider community. Amy is a committed and dedicated student and we wish her continued success in the year ahead.
