  3. Award Winning Chef James Richardson visits New-Bridge

We were delighted to welcome Mr James Richarson, Proprietor of the ‘Old Barn’ restaurant, Markethill to New-Bridge Integrated College today.

Award winning James took time out of his busy schedule to deliver a fantastic cookery demonstration to our Year 10 Home Economics students.  James made a delicious chicken noodle stirfry, pan fried salmon with garlic cream reduction and eton mess that went down very well with the pupils. He also highlighted the importance of excellent presentation as he showed the pupils various ways of garnishing sweet and savoury dishes with eye-catching coulis, tuille biscuits and parsnip crisps! The session was thoroughly enjoyed by both staff and pupils alike.

James Richardson is an award winning Chef, including Ulster Tatler Chef of the Year, and Janus Awards Restaurant Chef of the Year.  He has cooked with some of the greats, including Ainsley Harriet, Nevin Maguire, and Paul Rankin, and has recently returned from competing in the Panel of Chefs, where he won two medals.  He also holds medals from both the Culinary Olympics, and the Culinary World Cup.
