Dear Parent/Guardian

NICIE ( Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education) are asking for support from advocates of integrated education in relation to promoting the ‘Integrate my school’ campaign. They have sent this email to school to be shared amongst the school community and we would ask you to take a note of the details and if you feel you can assist in any way please contact Dawn Patterson, details below;

Earlier this year you may have seen Liam Neeson help launch the Integrate My School campaign: https://www.integratemyschool.com/ Liam was making people aware that it is possible for an existing school to transform into an integrated school. Research has shown that a majority of parents in Northern Ireland want their school to become integrated and the good news is that nearly every school can do this because transformation is supported by the Department of Education and government policy. Integrate My School is designed to enable parents to register their support for their child’s school to become an integrated school.

In order to bring this campaign to parents in the Newry area the Integrated Education Fund have arranged to have information stands at an upcoming event:

Newry Show 24 June 9.00 am – 6.00pm
Newry Rugby Football Grounds, 25, Hilltown Road, Newry BT34 2LJ

As a supporter of Integrated Education we would love to have you on board with this project. Students, parents and alumni with experience of integrated education are wonderful advocates and we would love to welcome them as they share experiences with the public. One or two hours of their time would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to volunteer at any of these events please contact Dawn Patterson dawn@ief.org.ok 028 9069 4099
