‘Made in Chelsea’ Spencer makes Guest Appearance at New-Bridge Formal

New-Bridge integrated college Sixth Form students held their annual formal on Wednesday 29th February 2014.  100 sixth form students, their partners and members of the College staff headed off to enjoy an evening of glitz and glamour at Belfast’s Ramada Hotel.

Head girl Tara Curran said ‘the evening was amazing! The food was delicious the atmosphere was great and the event was awesome! I enjoyed myself so much’.  She continued ‘The Formal Committee decided that this year we would like to do something a bit different and agreed among ourselves to book a celebrity guest to add to the glamour of the evening.  We sent an invitation to ‘Made in Chelsea’ Celebrity Guest Spencer Matthews, one of the original cast members in the reality TV programme.  Spencer is one of the longest appearing cast members in the show which has run for 7 Series on E4’s channel 4.   He has given viewers some great entertainment, caused plenty of scandal and kept audiences hooked throughout his appearance. As Head Girl, I introduced Spencer in my welcoming speech and invited him to give out awards with the Formal Committee (Vivian Vong, Cameron Magee, Jessica McClune, Jessica Massey, Hannah Proctor, Jake Vincent, Fiona McCormack, Colin McMinn, James Douglas and Chloe Smith)’.

The awards included ‘Best Vloggers’, ‘High School Sweethearts’, ‘Celebrity Lookalike’ and Best ‘Anonymous Letter’ which caused great excitement.

The overall consensus was that Spencer really added that something special to this year’s formal.

‘The formal was a thoroughly enjoyable night with all of the glitz and glamour in sight and of course Spencer added to such hype by being a true gentleman, the complete opposite to his womanising persona on TV! Charming man and great hair!  YEAH BOI! is one of Spencer’s favourite sayings and  he said it all night at the formal which was great fun’- Sarah Hamill Year 14
