New-Bridge Students support Drop Inn Ministries Shoe Box Appeal

Students from New-Bridge Integrated College took time over half term to support the Drop In Ministries annual Shoe Box Appeal.

In 2012 Drop inn Ministries sent out over 6000 shoeboxes to children in Latvia, Ukraine and Belarus, and this year hope to beat that figure in order to help more children in these poverty stricken areas.

Miss Phillips, Head of KS4 English was delighted at the response to the appeal.  ‘Christmas is an exciting time for children in Northern Ireland but for many of the children in the countries supported this will be their only gift. This is a time to join together to help these children.  New-Bridge students were very eager to get involved and and I am overwhelmed and very proud at how many  shoeboxes students put together over half term’.

The shoeboxes have been collected and will no doubt bring a smile to lots of deserving boys and girls this Christmas.
