  3. Gifted and Talented Programme at New-Bridge – 6th Form Aime Heads for Regional Final

Sixth Form Student, Amie Green’s entry ‘Kasoflutter’ has been chosen to go through to the Regional Finals of Junk Kouture 2013. Junk Kouture is a competition which highlights the creative skills of secondary school students who are required to produce a fashion garment from recycled materials.  The Regional Final will take place in the Millennium forum on Friday the 8th March 2013 at 7pm.

Kasoflutter is a dress inspired by Aime. The essence of adventure and ideas of fantasy are conveyed through a dreamy, flowing and floating effect.  “The Trash Kouture project has inspired me to create this dress from very common disposable materials. Using heat I have found a method of fusing recycled plastic bags, which will metamorphose into a shimmering transient experience for the wearer which mirrors the conversion of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Our ‘Butterfly Effect’ also hints at how one small change can influence a transformation in our whole world attitude towards recycling.”  Amie Green Year 13

Good Luck Amie! Go New-Bridge
