New-Bridge Integrated College, Year 13 Student, Katie Canniford who plays for the Down (minor) Camogie Team travelled to Coote Hill, Cavan on Sunday 24 April to play in the All Ireland Final against Co. Roscommon.  An exciting match from the outset, Rosscommon put up a tough defence but could not overcome Down’s 1 goal lead and Down came away as Champions.  Final score Down (1.6) Roscommon 6 points.

Katie who also plays for New-Bridge Integrated College Camogie Team has been training at St Patrick’s School in Downpatrick every week for the past 3 months, sometimes twice per week.  Katie plays in the forward line was delighted to be part of the winning team! The team beat strong opposition against Derry/Londonderry, Antrim and Laois to achieve their place in the final. 

 Katie combines County training with her A Level studies and is a wonderful ambassador for the College . Congratulations to Katie and the Down Team.
