Monday 14 November – Friday 18 November 2016

Monday 14 November – Friday 18 November 2016

New-Bridge Integrated College participated in the high profile, Anti-Bullying Week 2016 campaign, led by the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum. We joined hundreds of schools and youth groups across the country by taking part in Anti-Bullying Week 2016.

At New-Bridge we take the issue of bullying very seriously and hope that our planned activities throughout the week will help raise the profile of such an important cause.

To launch the week, our annual ‘Blue Day’ took place on Monday 14 November 2016.  Pupils were encouraged to wear as much blue as possible and bring a donation which will go towards our chosen charity for 2016 ‘Children in Crossfire’.

A junior school assembly, led by the anti-bullying ambassadors, took place on Monday 14 November based around this year’s theme ‘Together We Are Stronger’.  Pupils signed pledges to ‘Stand up to Bullying’ and in a powerful united action stood up together as a school community and repeated the words out loud ‘ Together we are Stronger’.  Mrs Anderson said she was moved by the genuine enthusiasm displayed by students and encouraged them to ‘ help eachother’ daily and to be courageous and ‘speak out’ against bullying.

On Wednesday 16 November Students are encouraged to show off their baking skills and bring in their genuine entries for the ‘Great New-Bridge Bake off’ for a chance to win a cash prize.

A detailed schedule of events was advertised and issued to pupils and parents and full details and photos can be found on the College website www.newbridgeintegrated.org
