  3. PCSP ASSEMBLY – Harsh Reality of Drugs

This week our Senior School pupils were privileged to hear Mrs Theresa Burke share her experiences surrounding the death of  her son Kealan. In conjunction with the Policing and Community Safety Partnership, Mrs Burke visits schools to share her story and inform pupils of the harsh reality of drugs and the impact they can have on the lives of individuals and on their families and friends. Telling the story of Kealan’s life through a series of photographs and videos, Mrs Burke touched the hearts of our pupils with her honest and open discussion about her son’s drug use, overdose and untimely death. Following Mrs Burke’s presentation a representative from the PCSP and two PSNI officers were on hand to speak to our pupils and to distribute leaflets outlining advice and support on drug abuse.
