Dear Parent/Guardian

SPORTS DAY MONDAY 17 JUNE 2019

Monday 17 June is our annual Sports Day.  The pupils have been working hard during their PE classes and after school over the last few months in preparation for this day.  Each class have been working on their technique and some students have achieved amazing ‘Personal Best’ performances, while others have improved their technique and shown great determination in trying to qualify.

Can I congratulate all those who have qualified for Track and Field events and encourage participating students to check carefully the event(s) that they are competing in on Monday and make sure that everyone has checked the FORM RELAY TEAMS for the afternoon’s final event.  We are looking forward to some exciting performances on the day.

We have a range of activities for students who are not participating in track and field events including inflatable ‘last one standing / assault course’, five-a-side football, tug-of-war and other games.   We have worked hard to provide a range of activities that all our students can enjoy and look forward to a full school attendance.  ‘Friends of New-Bridge’ will be on hand with a tuck shop. A poster is attached with further details.

We would like to welcome parents/guardians and relatives to come along and support students on Monday.   The inflatable courses are limited to students participating in Sports Day and cannot be extended to younger siblings who do not attend the College.

On Monday all pupils should come to school in their New-Bridge tracksuit, wearing their PE kit underneath in preparation for their events.  Events will begin following registration and will continue throughout the day. Presentation of awards will be in the College Hall at 2.45pm.

Break-time will be as normal with a 45-minute lunch starting at noon.  The canteen will be running a restricted lunch menu to allow all pupils to have their lunch during this time.  All buses will be as normal in the afternoon.

All pupils are advised to come properly prepared for the day with suitable snacks and drinks to ensure they can optimise their own performance and adequate sun screen for their skin type.  In the event that the weather is unsuitable, a text message will be sent in the morning and the school day will revert to normal timetable.

Yours in Sport
