  3. STORMONT RECEPTION FOR NEW-BRIDGE SCIENCE STUDENTS

Gifted and talented New-Bridge students, Maria McAnearney, Rachel Kitchen and Fiona McIlroy along with Science Teacher, Mrs Morgan were praised by Education Minister, John O’Dowd, for taking part in the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2015.  Mr O’Dowd praised the students in the course of a reception at Parliament Buildings, in honour of all the NI students and teachers who are taking part in the exhibition.  A total of 60 projects from 24 schools have been entered with 29 projects qualifying for the finals at the RDS in Dublin, in January 2015.

Speaking at the event, the Minister said: “I commend every single entry and congratulate the pupils on their projects.  I also commend the dedication of the teachers in assisting pupils with the development of their projects.   Without that commitment, pupils may not have entered”.

Good luck to our gifted and talented students in the final in January!
