BTec Students Enjoy a Day of Fitness Testing

On Tuesday 5th of November, twelve of our year 13 BTec sport students had the opportunity to visit the Sports Institute for Northern Ireland, at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown. As well as getting to see the amazing training facilities available at the institute they also had the chance to take part in a range of fitness tests.

Jonathan Bates impressed with his flexibility scores, Adam Dennison with his speed and Rachael Ryan with her strength! The students came away with the knowledge that fitness testing is an intricate component of optimally preparing for any sport and the need for a systematic and structured approach to training and testing becomes increasingly important as the level of competition increases. This not only will help them with their BTec course but also with their individual performances, in their respective sports. It was a very worthwhile and enjoyable day.
