Integrated Education Week 4th – 8th March 2013
‘Me, We, Our World’ was the theme for this year’s Integrated Education Week which was also the first International Integrated Education Week (IIEW2013), 4th – 10th March 2013.
Like all Integrated Schools across NI we celebrated under this year’s theme of ‘Me, We, Our World’. Our week long activities culminated in the Year 8 Integration Assembly on Friday 8th March.
Each form class prepared their contribution to the assembly. 8WN showcased their many hobbies and talents, 8BT looked at the origins of the College Prayer including an interview with one of its authors and our founding Principal, 8MD looked at traditions and cultures all around the world, and 8WT looked at environmental issues which impact the world around us, tying in nicely with Climate Week.
On Wednesday 6th March 8BT pupils Elaine Keegan, Richard Neeson and Niall Lennon travelled to Lagan College in Belfast to interview Mrs Helen Killick, one of the co-authors of our College Prayer. They were joined by Mr Peter Agnew, our founding Principal, and together they were able to share their memories of the very first Assembly in New-Bridge when the prayer was read for the first time. The full interview was shown as part of our Integration Assembly.
Under the theme of ‘Me’ we have put together an individual pupil Passport which is on display in the hall. This Passport contains a photo of each of our 95 Year 8 pupils, along with their best experiences about life at New-Bridge.
There were many other performances to enjoy including, singing, Irish Dancing, Tae Kwon Do, pommel horse, drama and other musical items.
