DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL APPROVED

Minister approves additional places for New-Bridge Integrated College

Education Minister, John O’Dowd, has approved a development proposal to increase the enrolment at New-Bridge Integrated College.
~ Thursday, 23 May 2013

Commenting on the decision, Mr O’Dowd said: “My Department has a statutory duty to encourage and facilitate the development of integrated education in the north.

“Evidence shows that there is demand from parents in the Banbridge area for integrated education and I have decided, therefore, to approve the proposal to increase the total enrolment number at New-Bridge Integrated College.

“I expect numbers to increase gradually as more children enter Year 8 each year, providing the school with the opportunity to steadily grow to a maximum enrolment of 620 pupils. The school’s growth will, however, depend on the availability of capital funding for the extra land and accommodation that would be required to facilitate the extra pupils.”
