New Bridge Integrated College

and business education charity Young Enterprise NI are working together to inspire students through the ‘Learn To Earn’ programme.

The Year 10 students taking part in the programme learned how to maximise their future employment opportunities and earning potential. The hands-on, interactive programme encouraged students to identify longer-term goals and aspirations and understand how the choices they make at school and their level of achievement affects the attainment of these goals.

The students were introduced to the economic realities of working life through budgeting activities and exploring their potential salary levels whilst exploring self-employment as a career option.

Cathy Morrison, Development Manager at Young Enterprise Northern Ireland, commented: ‘Learn to Earn reinforces what the students learn at school in Learning for Life and Work at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.  It encourages them to take ownership of their future careers and demonstrates the link between academic achievement and attainment of their desired future lifestyles.’

Young Enterprise NI is a charity part funded by the Department of Education.  For further information including volunteering and fundraising opportunities visit www.yeni.co.uk.
