New-Bridge Integrated College has been shortlisted for a national award to recognise organisations who actively promote equality and diversity.

The 2nd annual Northern Ireland Equality & Diversity Gala & Awards, is a unique event providing the opportunity for organisations in Northern Ireland to celebrate equality and diversity and recognise those who advocate and drive diversity within their organisations.

The evening will showcase the advantages of equality and diversity to employers and the wider community, celebrating success stories of individuals, groups and employers.

Mrs Anderson Principal of New-Bridge shared that “it is an honour for our school to be shortlisted for an award in the ‘Individual Diversity Champion’ Education Sector category as this recognises the efforts of our whole school community in promoting inclusion, equality, diversity and cultural integration in our school”.

Mrs Eimear McKeown, Inclusion and Integration Co-ordinator at New-Bridge Integrated College has played a key role in preparing the application with the support of the School CRED Team and commented: “Pupils, staff, parents and governors should be very proud of this latest recognition which follows the prestigious Evens Foundation Peace Education Prize which the school won last year. As ‘Laureate for Peace Education’, we look forward to showcasing our work further at the Gala event this spring, whatever result it may bring”.

The Legal Island Equality and Diversity Gala will take place on 23 March 2018. The evening will celebrate the success stories of individuals, groups and employers and will focus on organisations that have supported advancements in ethnic and cultural diversity.
