SHOE BOX APPEAL 2013

Students of New-Bridge College are asked to make a really special effort this year to support the ‘Drop Inn Ministries’ with their annual Christmas Shoe box appeal. It has been very successful each year but this year we really want it to be amazing!

We are asking you to contribute one wrapped shoe box each containing:

  • 5 items from one of the 8 categories
  • £1 for the cost of postage

This will make Christmas very special for a child less fortunate than you.  Sometimes the things we take for granted can be a luxury for others.

Please make a special effort to donate your shoe box to Miss Phillips or Miss Watters by Tuesday 5th November 2013!

In 2012 Drop inn Ministries sent out over 6000 shoeboxes to children in Latvia, Ukraine and Belarus, and this year hope to beat that figure in order to help more children in these poverty stricken areas.

Christmas is an exciting time for children in Northern Ireland, the expectation of a Christmas tree with twinkling lights, where scattered underneath is an array of presents varying in size that Santa has delivered.

But for many of the children in the countries supported this will be their only gift. This is a time to join together to help these children.

So how can you help?  Each child that agrees to take part will need one shoebox which they can wrap and decorate in whatever way they would like. Inside they will need to have 5 essential things; toiletries, clothes, stationery, toys and sweets, see enclosed list also.  Everything must fit inside one shoebox in order to make shipping easier. Also, on top of each shoebox £1 should be attached in order to help with the costs of shipping.

Please return your shoe box following the half term break.

Thank you for your support.
