  3. Sorcha raises awareness through beauty pageant for ‘Make A Wish’ Foundation

New-Bridge student Sorcha Ferguson proves she a shining example of all round inner and outer beauty.

Sorcha is a finalist of  ‘Ultimate Beauty Of Uk & Ireland pageant’, a foundation who do not stereotype or discriminate,  brand you as a number nor overlook the individuality of every person.  They look at you as an individual and are extremely interested to hear what you have to say.

The Ultimate Beauty Of UK & Ireland 2014 is a beauty pageant with a cause and have raised over £21,000 for charity. This year they are supporting the ‘Make A Wish Foundation Charity’   http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/

When Sorcha was asked to raise money for the ‘Make A Wish’ foundation she decided she wanted to learn more about the Charity. ‘Once I did my research I released how wonderful this charity is’.   I thought it would be great to raise awareness of it in our school as supports children who are terminally ill from the age of 3-17 years old. It grants magical wishes to these children which are nominated by themselves. The charity will grant over 1,000 wishes this year and aim to raise £7 million to do so.  Sorcha, invited Charity Representative Gail McKee into the College to speak at Junior Assembly.  Sorcha has begun fundraising and added, ‘Even after the final of the pageant I will still try to raise money for Make-A-Wish as I think what they do is very special.

Sorcha, is picutred with ‘ Make A Wish’ Charity  representative, Gail McKee, Mrs P Hasson, Vice Principal and fellow class friends who are supporting her fundraising efforts, Bridgid Garvey, Samantha Pepper Foulkes and Jade Dalzell.
